Rowan Sebastain Atkinson was born

in Consett  County Durham

England, on 6 January 1955

His parents were Eric Atkinson, a farmer and company director, and Ella May (née Bainbridge), who married on 29 June 1945. His three older brothers are Paul, who died as an infant; Rodney, a Eurosceptic economist who narrowly lost the UK Independence Partyleadership election in 2000 and Rupert.

After receiving top grade in Sicence A' levels and then He secured a place at Newcastle University, where he received a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In 1975, he continued for the degree of MSc in Electrical Engineering at The Queen's College, Oxford, the same college where his father matriculated in 1935, and which made Atkinson an Honorary Fellow in 2006

Atkinson briefly embarked in doctoral work before devoting his full attention to acting. First winning national attention in The Oxford Revue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 1976, He had already written and performed sketches for shows in Oxford by the Etceteras.

Rowan Atkinson began developing the character more than a decade earlier, while he was pursuing his master’s degree in electrical engineering.

He said “I was asked in my first term at Oxford to do a sketch in this one-night show at the Oxford Playhouse, and I’d never written anything,”

Atkinson recalls in The Story of Mr. Bean, a feature on The Whole BeanDVD.

“I’m not really naturally a writer, so I just had to invent sort of 5 minutes of something at 48 hours’ notice. I just stood in front of the mirror and started to mess about with my face. And this strange, surreal, sort of non-speaking character evolved.”

At 24 years old, Rowan Atkinson debuted on television screens across England as part of the sleeper hit Not the Nine O’Clock News. Rowan was a perfect match for the off-kilter theme of the parody news show, which never took itself seriously , After the he boosten up himself and aimed to lighten up the evenings of all the people that watched it on television.

As we all know he suffers from a mild stammer, that is why he is probably that quiet all the time.

As he planned his future so he excuted his Idea ONLY 14 EPISODES were ever produced

It has 14 Episodes & 25-minute. All of them were written by and star Rowan Atkinson as the main character. Different episodes were also written by Robin DriscollRichard Curtis and one by Ben Elton. The first episode was shown on ITV on 1 January 1990. The last television episode, "Goodnight Mr. Bean" broadcast on 31 October 1995. The final episode, "Hair by Mr. Bean of London"

THE SERIES WAS BROADCAST IN NEARLY 200 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD.

Because the bulk of the comedy is physical, not narrative, Mr. Bean has not gotten lost in translation. “There doesn’t seem to be a country in the world, or not that I have visited, or indeed none that I have heard of, who don't seem to get him, who don’t seem to understand and enjoy the character of Mr. Bean,” Atkinson told ABC. “I think, and I’ve always assumed, it’s because he’s basically a child trapped in a man’s body."

ATKINSON HAS FAITH IN HIS FACE

While the beginning of Mr. Bean started by looking in the mirror, Atkinson decided to put faith in what he was doing with his face following that first successful performance at Oxford. “In the sketch the following Sunday, I just went through a whole lot of facial expressions,” Atkinson said in a BBC World Service radio interview in January. “I’m not sure whether there was a particular narrative, a logic to it, but I did my best and it certainly solicited laughter. But since then, I’ve hardly ever looked at my face … I hope it’s doing what I think it’s doing.”

After all the suffering , rejection and mild stammer , In no time

The 'Mr. Bean' show has hit the Global success

During a BBC World Service radio interview , executive producer Peter Bennett-Jones said, “I don’t think anyone could have anticipated quite how successful and long-lived it would be. Coming up to 25 years is an extraordinary thought since we first went on air on January 1, 1990. Mr. Bean’s been very good to us all, so we love Mr. Bean.”
